Volunteer: River Cane Restoration

Event Date:
Saturday, February 4, 2017 - 8:30am to 12:00pm

Oconee Rivers Audubon Society is teaming up with the State Botanical Garden of Georgia to reintroduce river cane to the bottomlands of the Middle Oconee River. Oconee Rivers Audubon has raised money in memory of Bill O'Grady to purchase river cane plants from local grower Thomas Peters.

Help us weed and expand the planting site on Saturday, February 4 from 8:30am-12pm. Meet at the lower parking lot in the powerline at 8am. Bring water, boots/sneakers, work gloves, sunglass/glasses, and warm clothes. Coffee will be provided!
