Bird Banding with Charlie Muise at Panola Mountain State Park (PANO) in Rockdale County

Event Date:
Saturday, August 6, 2016 - 5:30am
Bird Banding with Charlie Muise at Panola Mountain State Park (PANO) in Rockdale County

PLEASE NOTE:  Changes in our entry to Panola Mountain State Park have been dictated by the closure of Alexander Lake Dam to traffic:  Enter the park’s main gate, pass the small toll booth, follow the paved road to the right, and park in the small gravel lot on the right.  The main gate is on SR 155, approximately 10-15 miles north of the main square of McDonough.

We are required to carpool in, bringing as few vehicles as possible, so please be prepared to either get into another car, or invite others into yours.  Priority will be given to 1) regular volunteers and 2) high-capacity vehicles.

We need help at 2 other stations in the fall.  Please let Charlie (cmmbirds@yahoo.com) know if you are interested in helping with either!

  • Whigg Meadow, atop a mountain on the TN/NC border, runs all September
  • Jekyll Island Banding Station (JIBS) runs all of October
